Electronic brainstorming involves the use of collaborative software technology to anonymously enter and automatically disseminate ideas in real time to all team members, each of whom may be stimulated to generate other ideas. In this approach, each team member has a computer terminal that is connected to all other members’ terminals. The software allows individuals to anonymously enter their ideas as they think of them. Every time an individual enters an idea, a random set of the team’s ideas is presented on each person’s screen. The individual can continue to see new random sets of ideas by pressing the appropriate key.
