Notary Public: A Notary public is appointed by the Central State Government . His functions are to attest deeds, contracts and other instruments that are to be used abroad and to give a certificate of due execution of such documents. He enjoys the confidence of the business world, and any certificate given by him is presumed to be true by a court of law. The profession of notaries is regulated by the Notaries Act, 1952.
Notice of Protest: When a promissory note or a bill of exchange is required by law to be protested, notice of such protest in lieu of notice of dishonour must be given in the same manner as notice of dishonour (Section 102).
